a_boy_and_his_dog-posterOr re-imagined, or re-adapted, or . . . you get the idea. This week at Black Gate I’ve posted a very brief news item linking to a somewhat less brief news item about the brief mention made somewhere that, possibly in 2012, an animated film version of Ellison’s classic novella will be unleashed upon the world. As a fan of the original 1975 movie (which will more than likely end up as a Movies of a Misspent Youth review someday) I’m happy to see this, as I think it’s a story that can be done better and with more flair now. I’m really looking forward to catching previews of what the animation for this will look like, as I’m curious how it will tread the line between bleak and quirky.

You can be sure I’ll be keeping an eye out for news (or, rather, the super resource SFSignal will, where I steal most of my news items anyway — you didn’t really think I was some sort of industry insider or news maven now, did you?)
