I love the blood spatter behind the rapier! The knucklebow seems to mirror/continue the curvature of the blood spatter. And the cruel barbs on the spearhead are–painful looking. The contrast between the spear and rapier is intense: (1) civilization, sophistication, and elegance (rapier), versus (2) simplicity, utility, and “rudeness” (spear).
I plan on doing a post at some point about the learning curve for making covers — these were both done with powerpoint and stock photos. I feel like I’ve learned a lot in the last few days of endless tweaking….
And I’m still not 100% happy with them, I feel like the titles may need to pop a little more, and I’d like to adjust the proportions on ‘Last of His Kind’ as well but…at this point I’m going to move on to some other covers.
The nice thing about publishing your own ebooks is you can always go back and change things in the future.

Thanks Jason!
