And I've said in a few other places how much the props and costumes for the 13th Warrior really irritate me as the whole conceit of the story is to re-create a myth in a historcial context -- making it look completely ahistorical from the start undermines the entire purpose of the original. That is the difference between a movie and a book. The book makes imagination go wild and creative...on the other hand creativity is limited only through Directors mindset in movies. As for the movie, I just wish the costumes for 13th Warrior had tried to be a bit more authentic, but I did enjoy it despite some glaring anachronisms.
